    As a current Union Business Agent with UFCW Local 1445, Yesenia represents hundreds of frontline workers across Massachusetts, advocating for fair wages, better working conditions, and the dignity all workers deserve. Her work has been instrumental in resolving grievances, negotiating contracts, and empowering workers with the tools to defend their rights in the workplace.

    Yesenia also proudly served for over 10 years as a Chelsea School Committee Member, representing District 8, where she supported the creation of an innovative programs such as Chelsea Virtual Academy and Caminos, a dual-language pathway program that restored opportunity for multilingual students after decades of exclusion.

    Her leadership has been recognized across the region. In 2024, the Greater Boston Labor Council nominated Yesenia Alfaro to the Wage Theft Advisory Committee, a critical body dedicated to combating wage theft and ensuring that every worker in Massachusetts is paid fairly for their labor. Her presence on the committee is a reflection of her unwavering commitment to justice and equity for working families, especially within immigrant communities.
